KLIA Express @ KLIA

The KLIA express that cost RM35 one way will lead you directly to KL Sentral which is almost at the heart of KL.
With just 28 minutes, this non stop train has been getting more and more popular among frequent flyers who are travelling alone as the cost is much cheaper than getting a cab.

Trains @ KLIA

Passengers who are boarding international flights need to board another train from the KLIA main terminal to the international terminal.
I was at the airport early the other day and went to the viewing gallery to take pictures of these trains.

Best Airport @ KLIA

DUBAI, March 13 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) notched another mark in its success story when its flagship airport, the KL International Airport (KLIA), once again reaffirmed its ranking as the World's Best Airport in the 15-25 million passengers per annum category for the Airport Council International's Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards 2006.San Diego Airport in the United States and Zurich Airport in Switzerland were placed second and third in the category. The award presentation was held here last night in conjunction with the two-day Airport Council International (ACI) Airport Business and Trinity Forum hosted by the Dubai International Airport, which kicks off today.MAHB managing Director Datuk Seri Bashir Ahmad said the award was very important because it was given by the ACI's survey on airport services and infrastructure which gave passengers full satisfaction."We are very pleased to receive this award today, I think it is really rewarding for us and we hope to do better next year as the category and other airports will be more competitive and challenging for us," he told reporters after receiving the award. He said the wi fi services had contributed the most to KLIA's success as it was the first airport in the world to provide the service without any charges. The KLIA also maintained its third place in both the Best Airport Worldwide and Best Airport in Asia/Pacific categories, behind leader Incheon Airport, Korea, and Hong Kong's Chek Lap Kok Airport while Singapore's Changi Airport was fourth. When asked about KLIA being placed ahead of Changi Airport, Bashir said: "This is a very nice feeling. As you all know, we are always compared to Changi Airport in Singapore and it's nice to know that we have done very well this particular year and hope to continue to progress."He said it is not just about the airport infrastructure but the quality of the service provided was more vital to please the passengers and winning the award had proven this."There are 28 features in the ACI ASQ survey and we had to monitor each feature to ensure that we will not slip behind and to ensure that we had given the good services. We will continue upgrading our services and facilities to meet the increasing demands of our passengers," he said.ASQ is a survey conducted by the ACI by benchmarking airports performance on service quality, facilities and passengers feedback in several categories, namely Regional Awards, Size/Domestic Awards and Special Awards. A total of 81 airports worldwide participated in the ASQ Survey 2006.KLIA first participated in the survey in 2002 and has won the award for the same category since 2005.

Ampang Superbowl @ Berjaya Time Square

Hmm, my sales managers have a passion for bowling, whenever they come down to KL for a meeting, and if time permits, we will always go and have a quick bowling between the few of us.
Nope, we are not the one who score 9 /10 consistently, but I guess its the fun of playing together and praying hard that it will not hit the drain. And yeah... I have scored a 10 /10 before... but that was by pure luck!

Night Out @ The Curve

Chinese New Year mood really comes alive at night as the streets are light up with lanterns and people bisy buying their chinese new year stuff.
Here, in The Curve, the nightb bazaar comes alive with red tanglungs hanging above and the colourful tents bring out a carnival-like atmosphere around....

Concourse @ One Utama

The concourse of my favourite shopping mall - One Utama has been transformed to a little chinese village with mini gardens and bridges to play with. Stalls that sells chinese stuff surrounded this area. In the middle of the concourse was a stage for the various dances and performances as well.

Drums @ Ikana Power House

Among the dances and performances in shopping malls, Ikano Power House also came up with a new idea of drums performance !
I did not stay back and listen, but I guess it was a one big noisy affair!

Blossum Trees @ The Curve

While some used lanterns to create the new year atmosphere, over here at The Curve, it was pink pink and pink blossums.....with soft dim lights

Lanterns @ Shopping Complex

One of the themes some of the shopping complexes had for Chinese New Year was Lanterns.

I took these pictures in Time Square and another shopping complex in Bangsar.

One looks like a flying saucer to me, which was about to land and other felt little bombs dropping from the sky !

Inside Central Market @ KL

If you are a tourist in KL, Central Market is almost a must to visit as it is one of the top spots for tourists!

Central Market used to be a real market selling fish, chicks and other stuff that you need for after a while has been converted to a mall to sells souveniers and clothes.

What makes Central market different is its theme, "culture" What other shopping malls is the latest designer clothes and stuff, Central Market offers you a one stop souvenier centre.

From Pewter stuff, keychains, tidbits from various states and other mumbo jumbo. Its all here. Not kidding, even fortune tellers have their shops here. This is the place where you can make your own badge, mugs, T-shirts and stuff. There used to be street artists here that can drawyour portraits, but I din not see any of them that day.

They have undergone some extensive renovation as you can see from the pictures below, notice the tiles are different at different walkways, it does show a vast improvement as compared from last time.

Chinatown @ Petaling Street

I haven been to Petaling Street or also known as Chinatown for a long time. Therefore, during Chinese New Year, before I went back to work, i decided to take a walk back to memory lane.

Why memory lane, well, I actually used to work around this area and during lunch time would walk around here to see what's new in the market.

Visitors that come here gets the feel of the bazaar atmosphere, from birds and pets, to the latest design of your handbags, watches and clothes. Chinatown lets you feel the heat and action of bargaining with the people there.

If you win, you get your goods and a sense of satisfaction, that you did a great job as a negotiator!

If you want to feel the excitement, you won't get this in shopping complexes, the heat, the sweat and the action is all here in Chinatown

Lion Dance @ Low Yat plaza

Chinese New Year is just not the same without Lion Dances. They make the atmosphere of Chinese New Year.

As I walked into Low Yat plaza, i knew I was in luck when I heard the dynamic beats of the drums, and sure enough I saw two mini Lions dancing around Nokia and Sony Ericsson shops...yeah, hopefully they bring in more sales for them!
