KL - Singapore @ KLIA - Changi

I had to attend a conference in Singapore in the month of April and so they had provided me with air tickets to fly to Singapore...
Cool!, my first time flying to Singapore... yeap..
I was at the airport early and decided to hop on to the earlier flight.
After checking in, took the aero train to the international departure hall.
After 1 hour, landed in Changi airport. Well, Chnagi airport is definitely nicer, it does have a warmer feeling, not sure whether it was because of the carpets on the floor or what...
While KLIA boast the airport within forest concept, Changi airport offers the opposite by having a nice mini forst landscape within the airport itself! Cool.

Chinatown @ Petaling Street
I haven been to Petaling Street or also known as Chinatown for a long time. Therefore, during Chinese New Year, before I went back to work, i decided to take a walk back to memory lane.
Why memory lane, well, I actually used to work around this area and during lunch time would walk around here to see what's new in the market.
Visitors that come here gets the feel of the bazaar atmosphere, from birds and pets, to the latest design of your handbags, watches and clothes. Chinatown lets you feel the heat and action of bargaining with the people there.
If you win, you get your goods and a sense of satisfaction, that you did a great job as a negotiator!
If you want to feel the excitement, you won't get this in shopping complexes, the heat, the sweat and the action is all here in Chinatown

Equatorial Hotel @ Melaka
Strategically located is what this Hotel can post. Its within walking distance to both the historical sites and Jonker street as well as to Mahkota Parade and another new shopping mall.
Other than that, it is also one of the better hotels that I have stayed in despite it being packed all the time. Therefore, early booking is needed to guarantee you a place.
One great thing about this hotel is actually its sports facilities which unlike other hotels that just give you a bike or a treadmill and tells you, yeah, thats our sports centre.
The sports centre here is quite fully equipped!
Other than that, they also offer Spa and Jacuzzi to their hotel guests!
Yeah, I especially like the Jacuzzi, which comes in 2 pools, the hot and cold ones!
Definitely a 5 stars hotel!

Penang Airport @Penang
Airasia, for just RM0.99, i flew to Penang, thats of course excluding the airport tax, but still, it is reasonable as the time you save from travelling on the bus!
Air Asia is known for flight delays but suprisingly my flight both to and fro Penang was relativeky punctual!
AirAsia is not half as bad in terms of service, for RM0.99, it worth every penny!

Shopping @ Johor Airport

So you have checked in, still having some time and money to spend at Johor Airport, what do you do?
Shop around!
Other than the usual, chocolates and perfumes, there is also Watsons, a clothes shop that sells Bonia and Valentino Rudy clothes, there is also a mini-market shop (Johore Cental Store) that sells magazines and some tid bits. Mind you, the tid bits could be a bit pricey due to the rentals there.
What Johor airport offers is the sense of spaciousness in the hallway, there is ample of the space and you do not feel cramp. Plenty of walkway around the gates and plenty of seats as well.
If you are tired of shopping, don't worry, Johor Airport provides big screen TV in the waiting areas, so that you can rest you legs while you wait for your flight. There are different channels screening in different areas, so you get to pick a channel you like.
Yes, they have got Star World too! I have watched Bold and the Beautiful a couple of times in JB Airport.
Ok, so your legs is still tired from the walking and you still have time and money to kill. Then just go and get a foot reflexology!

Famous Amos @ Johor Airport

Each airport that I go too in Malaysia, or almost all of them, I will see Famous Amos there.
Yeah and they offer free smells to their customers.
Are their cookies good! Yup! But I do feel that it is a bit too pricey but then again they do provide the satisfaction expecially when those chocolate chips enter your mouth!

Sibu Airport @ Sibu

I had to be at the airport slightly earlier than usual because of the rain, you just never know if it might flood somewhere in between the journey. In the taxi, I had a delightful conversation with the Taxi driver with the little juicy gossips that happens around in Sibu town. Not that I need to know about such gossips, but it is more entertaining than the radio!
Anyway, I had to travel from Sibu to Miri via FAX which is the equivalent of the AirAsia. My first time with FAX and well everything seems pretty smooth.
The airport was pretty boring as there were not many shops to explore, so I just sat down quietly and wait to be checked in.

The last time I was in Sibu airport, FAX was still not around and I went to Miri via MAS, still remembered that I need to walk to the Fokker plane with my luggages and everything.

Kuching Airport@Kuching
The Kuching Airport had a lot of similiarities with KLIA in terms of architecture. Its like a mini KLIA!
The signage is similar and also the pillars as well. The airport is really spacious, but there are no TVs available unlike Johor Bahru airport.
Like the KLIA airport, both the departure and arrivals are also separated into different floors.
Glasses are used near the departure hall to enable you to see the planes outside, which is similar to most of the airports in Malaysia except a few like Kuantan Airport.
The airport looks and feels relatively new as everything is still spotless clean , have to wait for a while, then only we can determine how good they are in maintaining the airport.
However, the airport here is not as busy as Sabah airport in Kota Kinabalu,

Sabah Airport @ Sabah

Sabah Airport has one of the most interesting stores around, while other airports might be selling perfumes, alchohol and duty free stuff; Sabah Airport offers more than that by selling a variety of seafood stuff like scallops, birds nest, shark's fin etc.

These products are catered to those customers who could be transiting at the airport, or for the travellers who wish to spend their last few hundred ringgit to buy some of these stuff back.
