Bye Bye Sabah

It was a short stay in Sabah, less than 24 hours (as I arrived closed to midnight and left the next afternoon)

Nevertheless, it was refreshing to be out of Kuala Lumpur from time to time and go to islands of East Malaysia to enjoy their beauty.

Sabah Airport @ Sabah

Sabah Airport has one of the most interesting stores around, while other airports might be selling perfumes, alchohol and duty free stuff; Sabah Airport offers more than that by selling a variety of seafood stuff like scallops, birds nest, shark's fin etc.

These products are catered to those customers who could be transiting at the airport, or for the travellers who wish to spend their last few hundred ringgit to buy some of these stuff back.

Sabah - Going to school

In Sabah, some of the students have to take the boat to reach their school, in Kota Kinabalu.

Just imagine, when there is a thunderstorm or heavy rain.... poor kids.... while some people take the bus to their school. These kids really have to take a few different modes of transport.

On a nice and sunny day, things look calm and beautiful.

Around Miri Town

Around town, there is really nothing much. What caught my eye was actually a pawn shop that accepts telephones!

You are in Sarawak, obviously pepper is found everywhere!

Of course, there is a lot of handicrafts made of wood and other stuff!

Interestingly, they also had this International Thai Fortune Teller, that could just reveal your destiny

Miri - Food

There wasn't much available near the hotel except for this hawker centre, that sells some junk food like fish balls, fried dim sum, chicken wings...

Hmm, order them and they tasted so nice, especially their pandan chicken.....

Mega Hotel @ Miri

I arrived at Mega Hotel, Miri at almost 8pm. checked into the hotel and enjoyed a quick shower.

The rooms are spacious, what they lack in other facilities, they compensate with their huge rooms.

Anyway, after the quick shower, I headed out to see what's available for dinner. Tummy's grumbling.

Other hotels:
Kingwood Hotel
City Bayview

Johor trip 1

Mas airline flight delay. I ended in johor an hour later. Who is to be blamed? Guess you can't blame anyone....
Anyway, as I step out of the airport much later, my handphone was stolen, pickpocketed or lost. I will alway remember that I lost my phone in JB, where some people say the crime rates here are slightly higher....

Pan mee

Where do you find the best pan mee in town?

Cineleisure 1

If you are into movies, check out the latest cineplex near THE curve.

Alternatively, you can check out there website at http://www.cineleisure.com.my

Cineleisure Damansara takes Malaysia to another level of entertainment. Their concept is modeled after Cathay Cineleisure Orchard in Singapore. The one in Singapore offers patron a chance to shop, eat and play cyber games just like other malls with the exception that in this case, the cineplex is the anchor tenant.

Cineleisure will complement the shoppers near The Curve as well as Tesco and Ikea as none of these have cineplex. It will in turn give some competition to very nearby cineplexes in One Utama ( TGV and Golden Screen Cinema)

But competition is defintely good for us.:)

Centrepoint

If you think that you are in the park, think again! This is actually inside the centrepoint shopping complex at bandar utama.
