Kuching Chinatown

Chinatown is just like a symbol to signify the presence of the Chinese community, while some of the places will have some gate to signify the area of Chinatown, some do not.

In Kuala Lumpur, the Chinatown is also known as Petaling Street whereby the activities here are similiar to Shen Yang Market in Shanghai, only in a smaller scale.

However, in Kuching, there is also a Chinatown with a gate to usher tourists in. As I walked into the Chinatown in Kuching, it was a bit quiet as it was on a Sunday and most of the shops were closed.

Other than the usual shops around the area, many clans or association quarters are also located here as well.
