Swans @ Sibu

Surpising there were 2 statues of giant swans in Sibu. One was in the town centre and the other one was by the riverside.

These were huge swans and I wondered was there any significant meaning the swans were being erected there?

Was there some stories about the swans in Sibu, I never got to know. But if someone out there knows about it, maybe you can drop a comment or two....
